Women and gender minorities in STEMM bring essential perspectives that fuel innovation, inclusivity, and real-world impact.
We were asked to design a complete brand identity and marketing materials for Request a Woman in STEMM (changed to gage.) - a platform connecting organisations with female and gender minorities in STEMM. We delivered a logo design, brand guidelines, website /directory design and promotional campaign materials to support platform growth.

Through a few online meetings and some discovery workshops, we were able to discover an opportunity to not only design the platform but also to rebrand the platform with a new, more catchy name.
"Request a woman in STEMM would not crack it."
๐ Design gap
CI: A strong, memorable brand presence in the form of a unique brand presence that ties back to platforms purpose.
Emotive design: There is a lack of energy and humanity on the site makes the platform feel extremely transactional.
UX: A well designed user interface that will make the navigation of the platform more pleasurable.
Together, we aligned on their vision, clarified core objectives, and built a foundation rooted in purpose. A key outcome was the exploration of a new name โ gage. โ inspired by Matilda Gage and the 'Matilda Effect,' which honours the often-overlooked contributions of women in science.

The new brand identity was designed to be distinct and purpose-driven, capturing the platform's mission to increase visibility, access, and recognition for underrepresented voices in STEMM.
We addressed the lack of warmth and humanity in the original site design by introducing more emotive, purpose-driven design elements to create a more engaging and meaningful user experience.
